The project

National Freight Hub

A platform we own and operate.

Nobody looking for a fulfillment partner searches by company name. They search by what has to be handled and where it has to happen: cold storage in Texas, drayage near a port, an operation that can take hazmat. So the search takes a capability and a location rather than a keyword, and the capability field is the one that does the work. Categories and locations are both browsable, because a shipper who does not yet know the term for what they need has to be able to arrive at it by browsing. Navy throughout, with a signal orange kept for the single action on each screen. Designed, built and operated by Signal Grove.

The search

Capability and location, not a keyword box

The National Freight Hub search page headed Find logistics companies, a dark panel carrying three fields for what is needed, where it has to happen, and an optional capability such as refrigerated, hazmat or rail-served
Browsing in

For a shipper who does not know the term yet

Categories and locations are both entry points, because somebody who cannot name what they need still has to be able to find it.

Tools and guides

The research that happens before the shortlist

On a phone

Three phone screens from National Freight Hub: the home page, the provider search, and the e-commerce fulfillment section
Social

One practical topic per card

Branded cards drawn from the platform's guides, published to its Facebook page.

Beyond the screen

Freight is a physical business

The identity has to work on a dock, a warehouse wall and a tumbler on a forklift as well as in a search result. Where the orange would disappear, it runs as a single color.
